What are Alpha Male and Beta Male?

According to Wikipedia Alpha male and beta male, or simply alpha and beta, are slang terms for men derived from the designation for alpha and beta animals in ethology. The term alpha male is often incorrectly applied to any dominating man, especially bullies. Both terms have been frequently used in the manosphere. The term beta is used as a pejorative self-identifier among members of manosphere communities, particularly incels, who do not believe they are assertive or traditionally masculine and feel overlooked by women. It is also used to negatively describe other men who are not assertive, particularly with women and generally in life as well. [1]

What is a Beta Male in Sexuality and Cuckolding?

There is a lot of debate and varying opinions on the internet on what a beta male is and whether we can distribute men into sexual groups, to begin with. From my readings and research on various sites and forums, it seems that a lot of people like to define beta males as those who can’t take charge of their own destiny, make excuses, need affirmation, give up, fall in line, and get pushed around. This is wrong. Alpha vs beta has absolutely nothing to do with any of the aforementioned traits. It’s not about good habits, healthy vs unhealthy lifestyle, social and economic success, or if you are the bully or the bullied.

The classification is only purely concerned with one’s approach to sexuality and nothing more. Furthermore, it is a spectrum and not a dichotomy. Seldom is anyone purely beta or purely alpha, most people are somewhere in between on the spectrum. And lastly, neither is necessarily better than the other.

What does the beta male end of the sexual spectrum look like?

Let’s get into the nuts and bolts of the beta male. Beta males approach to sex and relationships emotionally. Sex is very meaningful to them and very emotionally charged. Also, they have higher serotonin (the neurotransmitter responsible for bonding) and are always in long-term relationships. They are monogamists by nature, and casual sex does not appeal to them. Furthermore, they have masochistic and submissive tendencies. They have a high propensity to fall in love and fall hard when they do.

Moreover, they absolutely love to please their woman and put her needs and happiness before their own. Compersion is strong in beta males. Beta males also are quick to forgive and forget the shortcomings of their partner and amplify her good traits in their minds. They love to provide for their family and are very gentle and proud fathers.

Furthermore, they are extremely passive and shy in courtship (i.e flirting/hitting on the opposite sex) and fall into relationships through friendships, a girl making a move on them, or just plain luck; approach anxiety is big in beta males. As a result of these traits, the beta male is sexually inexperienced and loses his virginity to his wife, the first girl he falls in love with. Again, keep in mind that I am describing the absolute end of the spectrum, most beta males don’t lose their virginity to their wife because most are somewhere in between.

What does the alpha end of the sexual spectrum look like?

Alpha males approach to sex and relationships more rationally and with a conquering mindset. Sex is a sport to them, something to do for fun. They have higher dopamine (the motivation neurotransmitter) and are always in short-term or casual relationships. Also, they are non-monogamous by nature and can’t stay faithful to anyone girl for long. Alpha males don’t really fall in love, more so form opposite gender relationships for convenience and benefits. So they may have sadistic and dominant tendencies. Furthermore, they always prioritize their own needs and wants.

Moreover, they are quick to end relationships and intolerant of flaws and behavior/attitude that does not suit them. They don’t like to support a girl in any capacity unless the benefits outweigh the costs, they are for the most part absent fathers. They are extremely aggressive and confident in courtship and have a very easy time forming new relationships with women and frequently do so. As a result, the alpha male is very sexually experienced and has numerous one-sided relationships (in terms of commitment and effort) with women throughout his life, mostly extracting benefits from them and giving little if anything in return.

Why are beta males looked down upon?

Beta males are sometimes looked down upon, even within the context of this correct definition. Another reminder that we are only concerned with the sexual realm here, this has nothing to do with jobs and promotions. This is mainly due to the fact that betas end up having to do work and sacrifice for what the alpha male gets for free.

With the premise that women enjoy sex, especially good sex, and are sexually active from their late teens, and live in a sexually liberal and permissive country; this usually means that betas end up with many sexually frustrated years and generally end up having to commit to and put effort towards girls that enjoyed sex with alpha males who had the confidence and aggression to approach them throughout their youth.

This also means that they will usually be compared in the bed with their alpha counterparts, and this comparison is hardly ever favorable for the beta. Again this is usually, I’m not saying this is every beta’s life story. The spectrum for girls exists as well, and many betas end up marrying the girl whose virginity they took.

So doesn’t it suck to be a beta male then? Not any more than it sucks to be an alpha male. While I described some cons to being a beta male, there are upsides too. First of all, the same sexually frustrated and yearning years will cultivate a love and passion for women in betas so deep that will never be found in an alpha. The beta gets the ability to derive as much pleasure from making his wife happy as the alpha gets from fucking her. And girls who enjoyed alphas throughout their youth sexually while being emotionally broken down by them will be in the perfect position to appreciate the nurturing qualities of the beta when they are ready to settle down.

The comparison in bed? Ask any woman about the married or who is married if they married their best sex. The answer is usually no. Yet they are happy with their relationships and love their husbands. Because as women get older, love and beta qualities are much much more important to them than memories from a decade past. Alphas are incapable of having an emotionally fulfilling relationship and pure hedonistic sex can eventually get tiring for them.

In summary, there is nothing wrong with being a beta male. There are pros and cons to both ends of the spectrum. Having said that though, strive to have a mix of both and not be on either extreme end. It is best to be mostly beta with some alpha qualities to mostly alpha with a sufficient amount of beta qualities. If you are mostly beta, there is no need to be ashamed. In my opinion, you arguably get the better deal, lifelong emotional fulfillment.

Why cuckolding and betas are often linked?

Let me reiterate that cuckolding is an individual fetish and just a fetish that I personally have and cover on this blog. There doesn’t have to be any association between being a beta male and cuckolding. The only relation between the two is that beta males make great Cuckolds and alphas generally make poor cuckolds if at all. This is because cuckolding plays strongly into intrinsic beta male traits such as sexual inexperience, submissiveness, and masochism. That is all. You are not automatically a cuckold if you are a beta male. You are a cuckold only if you are aroused by the fetish. [2]
